Quote for today on preparedness and acceptance

In this world you've just got to hope for the best and prepare for the worst and take whatever God sends.
– Anne Shirley, title character from Anne of Avonlea by Lucy Maud Montgomery

In short, this is how I try to approach my preparedness and my life in general.

I work at preparing for the worst — catastrophes both personal and societal — and then hope that I don't have to use all of those preparations.

But, I do my best to accept the things that come my way, whether they're bad or good.

This approach helps me prevent worrying, or at least minimize it.

How about you? Does this approach work for you? Why or why not?

  1. Absolutely. Preparing is part of being able to enjoy life with less stress.

    1. Less stress and peace of mind are the goals, for sure.
