How to Get Prepared According to NASA

I recently came across a video on YouTube from the director of NASA (Charles F. Bolden, Jr.), where he was advising the "NASA family" to work on getting their own families prepared for natural disasters and other emergency situations. I tracked down the video on the NASA website, and found other helpful information too.

On their Family/Personal Preparedness page, you can see the introductory video that I mentioned above. In addition, there are five other related publications about preparedness:
Note: Adobe Reader is required to read PDF files and can be downloaded at no cost.

NASA's not the first organization that comes to mind when I think about preparedness resources. Still, these guides do provide pretty good information, especially if you're just getting started on your preparedness planning. Further down the page, there are also some links to other related sites and resources.

After you've had a look, let me know what you think of the video, these guides, or anything else on the page. Anything missing? How do you feel about taking self-reliance or preparedness advice from the government?
